The vegas2venice documentary premiere!
The Fasthosts sponsored vegas2venice documentary premieres this evening at 8pm!
This summer we became the Official Sponsor of a documentary project called vegas2venice. When two creative fundraisers, who go by the team name of vegas2vegas, presented to us their latest project we thought the idea was fantastic, so decided to get on board.
The team embarked on an amazing 3,000 mile journey across Europe to meet with people affected by HIV/AIDS. Hoping to discover what difference HIV treatment is making to people’s lives and they came back with an amazing story.
This evening, Wednesday 28th November at 8pm, the vegas2vegas team will be releasing the online premiere of the resulting documentary – vegas2venice (A positive HIV story).
The premiere will take place online and viewers will be able to ask the crew and the production company questions throughout the broadcast.
To subscribe to watch the documentary visit www.vegas2venice.co.uk
The film is in aid of Arms Around the Child, a charity who look after children affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa and India.
The vegas2vegas team also sent us this summary of the project:
World AIDS Day
December 1st marks World AIDS Day and the vegas2venice documentary aims to raise awareness of the stories of those affected by the disease. AIDS is a subject that has largely disappeared off the radar of people’s consciousness within the UK, particularly among young people, and yet it is still a very important and relevant issue.
Vegas2venice aims to put the topic back on the radar in a fresh new way for young people. It has been the biggest challenge so far and one that we hope will have a massive, positive impact.
What is vegas2venice?
We headed to Europe in search of the passions of those affected by HIV/AIDS and what access to HIV treatment means for the people we met. We want to celebrate their talents and ambitions to highlight what makes us the same rather than what makes us different.
The end result is an inventive, professionally filmed, 4-part documentary web series which takes you on a crazy ride by getting to know the people affected by this disease in lots of different countries and cultures.
3,000 miles, 10 countries, 8 days!
The eight day round trip began and ended in our hometown of Ross-on-Wye, England, which is nicknamed Ross Vegas. The route was just over 3,000 miles along which we visited Paris, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Salzburg, Venice, Milan, Interlaken, Bruges and many other famous cities.
We spoke to those affected, HIV activists, documentary makers, and those helping develop HIV treatment.
We appreciate any help you can give in spreading the word about the documentary and our subscription page.
