Put on your glad rags, it’s time for the UK business awards!
It’s that time of year when the silver screen celebrities are putting on their gowns and tuxedos for the Academy Awards. And likewise business owners up and down the country are preparing for their own awards ceremonies.
Below is a list of some of some of the UK’s most prestigious business awards events, and it’s not too late to enter your company into the mix.
Guardian Sustainable Business Awards 2013
Entry Deadline: 8th February 2013
Now in their third year, The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards, is set up to recognise and reward innovation and impact in corporate sustainability. Winners of this award receive widespread media coverage along with positively enhancing the perception of their business.
The Shorty Awards
Deadline: 10th February
Is your company a whizz with social media? Have you been running a great Twitter campaign, released a hit YouTube video, or seen sales take off as a result of Facebook activity? The Shorty Awards recognises brands across more than 30 categories and every year millions of people descend upon the Shorty website to support their favourites. Could this be your year?
The FD’s Excellence Awards
Deadline: 1st March 2013
The FD’s Excellence Awards are the most prestigious programme that recognises the UK’s top finance directors and their service providers. Winners are determined by votes cast in the FD’s annual Satisfaction Survey, and celebrates not only the role model finance directors but also banks, auditors, software suppliers and recruitment firms.
First Women Awards
Deadline: 5th April 2013
Created by Real Business and the CBI in 2005, the First Women Awards recognise pioneering UK women who have opened up opportunities for others. This high profile event receives widespread media coverage from organisations such as Financial Mail, The Evening Standard, The Telegraph and more.
The Queens Awards for Enterprise
Deadline: 30th September 2013
Winners of this award receive the prestigious honour of being endorsed by HM The Queen. The awards are for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of innovation, international trade and sustainable development. There are a few requirements to enter these awards; must be based in the UK, a self-contained enterprise which markets its own products or services, be under its own management with at least 2 full time employees, and be able to demonstrate commercial success.
National Business Awards
Deadline: Submission for 2013 not yet open
Are you an outstanding British business? The National Business Awards, in partnership with Orange, want to know about you. Any company within the UK, whether private or public, can enter the awards, regardless of size or industry sector.
European Business Awards
Deadline: Deadline date not yet released
The European Business Awards celebrates the most innovative, successful and ethical businesses on the continent.
